Julie Simpson has had an ongoing love affair with art since childhood, choosing to develop her work independently through personal experience and dedicated study. A professional Textile and Fashion Designer, Simpson discovered Fine Art and now works with a diverse range of materials including bitumen, oils, acrylics, wax, ground hematite, pastels, and charcoal.

Using a rich, earthy palette, she creates unique images that blend figuration, abstraction, and symbolism. In March 2000, she exhibited at the World Art Expo in New York, where she also took the opportunity to study at the prestigious Art Students League. Further inspiration was found during extensive travels through India in September 2000, where she created and exhibited work in Calangute, Goa. A trip through Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand in 1996 also contributed to her learning of new creative techniques.

Through her extensive world travels, Julie Simpson has developed a unique individual style that offers the viewer an insight into her soul. Her works are held in both national and international private collections.
